Twitter can be a distressing place. So much so that WWE Hall of Famer and universally beloved figure Mick Foley has decided to step away from the social media platform.
Foley posted a tweet yesterday saying he needed time away from the site. Currently, his Twitter account has been deleted.
There is more than a ton of turmoil and negativity on Twitter as of late. With the combination of the tragic passing of Hana Kimura, which was reportedly brought on by cyber-bullying, the murder of George Floyd, COVID-19 in general, and just everyday negativity, it is understandable that someone may feel the need to take a step back. It should be noted that we do not currently know why the decision was made.
Foley has always been outspoken about public issues. He has also been more active than most when it comes to interacting with his fans. He has consistently been one of the most approachable people on social media while trying to respectful of all others. It is not currently known if he will return to the platform or not. Either way, leaving Twitter is a decision many have made and few have argued against.
