On Wednesday 15th April, WWE shockingly released several wrestlers, backstage staff and writers including Kurt Angle, No Way Jose, Aiden English, Rusev and Lio Rush. They also released several stars from NXT, including MJ Jenkins and Deonna Purrazzo.
On last week’s Impact Wrestling show, a vignette aired for Deonna Purrazzo. She is able to appear for other promotions as she was under an NXT contract and had a 30-day non-compete as opposed to the 90-day clauses that stars from the main roster are subject to.
It doesn’t seem like Impact is contempt with the just the signing of Deonna Purrazzo, as the promotion has teased the acquisition of several other former WWE stars in a promotional video for Slammiversary.
The hype package for the show showed clips of Eric Young, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Drake Maverick, Curt Hawkins, Mike and Maria Bennett and EC3. The clip also featured a Bulgarian flag, which would be a reference to former United States Champion Rusev.
You never know where future endeavors may lead.

This is fantastic from Impact, while I would be shocked if they signed all of the talent teased in the video, it’s great to drum up interest in the Slammiversary pay-per-view that will air on July 18. I do expect one or two to debut for the show, most likely Mike Bennett and his wife Maria Kanellis.
Who do you think will debut for Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary? Let us know in the comments
