It’s being reported that a WWE developmental talent who was last at the Performance Center this month has tested positive for COVID-19.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the talent was last at the PC on June 9, and everyone who was on-site that date will now be tested.
Plans currently are to continue as normal when the results are in, but obviously if the results end up being bad that could change.
WWE released the following statement on the matter:
“A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule.”
There had previously been one confirmed positive test for COVID-19 within the company, but it’s been reported since then that person, who was an on-screen talent but not a wrestler, had made a recovery.
As this news has just come out details are scarce, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as we’ll provide updates as they become available.
