The official viewership numbers for the August 5 episodes of AEW Dynamite on TNT and WWE NXT on the USA Network have been revealed.
Both shows increased in overall average viewers, with AEW pulling in 901,000, which is an increase from last week’s 773,000. NXT, on the other hand, drew 753,000 on average, which is up from 707,000 last time around.
If you add those both together, that’s 1.654 million, which means they drew more than last week’s Raw combined, which got 1.616 million. This week’s Raw drew 1.714 million, and the latest SmackDown drew 1.892 million.
Both 18-49 ratings were up too, with AEW getting a 0.36 and NXT getting a 0.20, up from 0.30 and 0.18 respectively. Dynamite did beat this week’s Raw in 18-34 by 0.29 to 0.28. The NXT number for 18-34 was 0.11.
Prior to the show, AEW had announced Jon Moxley would be defending the World Championship against Darby Allin, The Elite & FTR vs Dark Order in a 12-man tag, Cody & Matt Cardona vs Alex Reynolds & John Silver, and the debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy.
NXT, on the other hand, had Keith Lee vs Cameron Grimes in a non-title match, Rhea Ripley vs Dakota Kai, the third TakeOver ladder match qualifier three-way, and Imperium defending the Tag Team Championship against Undisputed ERA, as well as Pat McAfee appearing to address the Adam Cole incident.
