Last night at NXT TakeOver 31, as had been heavily speculated in the week leading up to the show, former Women’s Champion Ember Moon returned to the black and gold brand to confront current champion Io Shirai.
This is the first time that Ember Moon has appeared on TV in over a year following an ankle injury. Moon revealed in November 2019 that she would be out of action for an indefinite period of time, so it’s great to see her healthy again.
Taking to Twitter following her return at the Capitol Wrestling Center last night, the former NXT Women’s Champion mocked a fellow former champion of the black and gold brand, Bo Dallas:
If you #BOlieve … anything can happen!
This is significant as, along with Ember Moon, many people speculated that former NXT Champion Bo Dallas was going to be the former NXT star returning at TakeOver. For those that don’t know, “BOlieve” was Bo’s former catchphrase.
Ember Moon wasn’t the only women’s wrestler to return at NXT TakeOver 31 last night, as former NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm also confronted Io Shirai after her match with Candice LeRae last night.
With Ember Moon now back in NXT, who would you like to see her face? Be sure to let us know on Twitter.
