A current WWE star and former United States Champion has spoken about receiving help from the Undertaker during his time in NXT.
WWE uploaded a snippet from the ‘Meeting The Undertaker’ show on the WWE Network to YouTube, which saw a number of stars talk about their first encounter with Taker, and one of those featured was King Corbin.
It’s been said that Taker helped Corbin quite a bit while he was in NXT, and Corbin spoke about that on the show, saying:
“The first time I got to actually have a conversation with him was at NXT. He came down and was in the Performance Center, in the ring, and then he kinda grabbed onto me a little bit in NXT and was trying to help me with my entrance because we were working on just evolving, because I was very, very new in NXT. I had just done my first TakeOver so I was kinda rolling into really finding myself and how to carry myself, and he kinda stepped in and helped. I was doing TakeOver, and I did something in the match and I walked back and he was shaking his head at me. And I was like, ‘what?’, and he’s like, he kinda yelled at me like, ‘why would you do that? You’re so stupid, like, don’t do that’. I’m going ‘dude, in the moment it felt right, but you’re completely right, like, what I did was wrong, and I see why’. And that was one of those things where he doesn’t sugarcoat so you have to kinda man up and take it, but you come out better for it.”
