It was reported earlier this week that Konnan was in the hospital. We would end up finding out that the AAA star was hospitalized due to kidney problems after testing positive for COVID-19.
Now, Dave Meltzer has provided an update in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer reported that Konnan is now out of the hospital, having been released on February 18. The report also includes the following quote from Konnan himself:
“Was very sick last week was bedridden for three days, I got Covid went to hospital and my kidneys were failing.”
Meltzer also noted Konnan’s recent schedule had included his appearance on AEW Dynamite, as well as being in attendance for IMPACT TV tapings and AAA tapings.
Konnan had received a kidney transplant in 2007 and dealt with major side effects at the time from anti-rejection drugs.
We here at WrestleTalk would like to wish Konnan a very speedy recovery.
