Chris Jericho, Io Shirai & More React To WWE NXT Releases

Following the latest round of WWE cuts, a number of wrestlers have taken to Twitter to comment on the shocking NXT releases.

WWE has now released a number of NXT stars, including former North American Champion Bronson Reed and former NXT Tag Team Champion Bobby Fish.

Following the departures, Chris Jericho took to Twitter to claim that AEW is the best promotion in the world, especially for performers. Seemingly reacting to the WWE releases, Jericho tweeted:

“I think now more than ever it’s obvious, – @AEW is the best pro wrestling company in the world today! Both for fans …and especially for performers. Nothing can stop us now!”

Former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai’s response was more emotional, simply tweeting a broken heart emoji.

Before last night’s episode of SmackDown, Dakota Kai wrestled a dark match against Aliyah. In a now-deleted tweet, Kai reacted to the news, noting:

“My heart is broken.”

Raw star Cedric Alexander pointed out the fact that the soon-to-be free agents are a talented bunch, posting:

“Sooo much TALENT!!!!!!!!”

Former WWE talent Chelsea Green urged Bronson Reed to remain positive, tweeting:

“It doesn’t matter where you end up, you’ll be successful!!!! You’re a god damn star.”

It has been reported that WWE plans to repackage NXT, reformatting the show.
