the first post-WWE appearance of former NXT star Mercedes Martinez has been revealed, and Martinez has a IMPACT gold in her sights.
Martinez will challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship at the October 16 WrestlePro event. Kevin Matthews took to Twitter to confirm Martinez’ WrestlePro debut:

Martinez was released by WWE on August 6. During her last NXT match in June, Martinez received a concussion from a kick from Xia Li. Recently released WWE talents Dirty Dango (Fandango) and Tony Nese will also be in action at the WrestlePro show.
Deonna Purrazzo defended her Knockouts Title against Thunder Rosa last month at Slammiversary. Tonight (August 14)at Triplemania XXIX, she faces AAA Reina De Reinas Champion Faby Apache.
Also at TripleMania XXIX, Kenny Omega will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Andrade El Idolo. On last night’s premiere episode of AEW Rampage, Christian Cage pinned Kenny Omega for the IMPACT World Title. Cage will defend the IMPACT gold at Emergence on August 20.
