A new report has provided an update on Pete Dunne’s WWE status, following reports that his current contract will expire soon.
Following news that Adam Cole may be on his way out of WWE It was revealed that Dunne’s WWE deal expires on September 1.
As per Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE did offer Dunne a contract extension recently. It is currently unknown whether Dunne has re-signed with the company, or if he has plans to.
With this being a contract expiry, Dunne would reportedly be free to work for other promotions after September 1, should he choose not to re-sign with WWE.
At NXT TakeOver 36, Cole lost to Kyle O’Reilly in a 2/3 falls match. Following the event, it was stated that Cole is done with NXT, with Fightful reporting that the former NXT Champion’s contract expires on Friday, August 27.
Cole’s contract initially expired in June, before he signed an extension long enough for him to compete at NXT TakeOver 36.
