Following reports in recent days, some more clarification has come to light regarding the situation with Vince McMahon and NXT.
Initial reports had claimed that the revamped NXT was going to be produced by Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, but that’s now been cleared up.
In today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there was a meeting with NXT talent to tell them the reports that McMahon and Prichard would be directly producing NXT TV were incorrect.
However, it was noted that McMahon and his team, which is mainly McMahon, Prichard, Nick Khan, John Laurinaitis and Kevin Dunn, will be leading the key decisions more than they were previously.
This includes things like the show’s new logo, which was done by McMahon’s team (likely Dunn) with no input from the ‘NXT people’.
Vince McMahon and co will make ‘big-picture decisions’, including those related to “creative or marketing or branding”, but it will not be a case of them being hands-on and in control of everything on the weekly TV show, which is what the initial reports had made it sound like.
