The backstage reaction to recent WWE segments involving Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar has reportedly been revealed.
The Tribal Chief has been feuding with Lesnar since The Beast’s WWE return during the final moments of SummerSlam. The two heavyweights will finally do battle at Thursday’s Crown Jewel event, with the Universal Championship on the line.
As per Ringside News – which has had several WWE backstage reports confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer in recent times – the most recent SmackDown segment featuring Reigns and Lesnar was praised backstage for ‘just how awesome it was’.
On the October 15 show, Reigns and Lesnar signed their contracts for Crown Jewel, making the upcoming match official. Paul Heyman’s loyalty was questioned once again, when Lesnar stated that Reigns’ Special Counsel had read through the fine-print with him prior to the signing.
The report also noted that the ‘Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair swap’ has also been discussed backstage recently. During the WWE Draft, Lynch was moved to Raw and Flair to SmackDown, despite both women holding titles on their current brand.
The WWE Draft is effective as of the October 22 edition of SmackDown, meaning Lynch’s Crown Jewel title defence against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair will be the last opportunity for a Women’s Title change before the two competitors swap brands.
