Report: WWE Expected To Run More Stadium Shows Moving Forward

A backstage note has indicated that WWE is expected to run more stadium shows in the future.

By the end of this year, WWE will have hosted eight stadium shows in 2022, including the UK Premium Live Event slated for September.

Per Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast, the aim is to make this number the new normal, with WWE President Nick Khan reportedly pushing for WWE to run more stadiums.

Zarian tweeted:

A source over at WWE mentioned that WWE intends to run more stadium shows moving forward in 2023.

Just for reference 2022 has 8 stadium events.

The goal is to make this the new norm. This is a Nick Khan approach when it comes to Premium Live Events.

The scalability of large stadiums is very beneficial when it comes to having live attendance over 15k.

The event doesn’t have to be a sell-out of 50k+ but now you have room to do 20-35k shows more often leading to much higher revenue & higher level of excitement for the event.

WrestleMania 38 notably emanated from the AT&T Stadium on April 2 and 3. WWE recently touted the shows as the highest grossing event in company history.

The UK event, set to air from the Principality Stadium in Wales, has had a historic level of pre-sale interest, with over 59,000 fans pre-registering for tickets within the first 24 hours of the show’s announcement.

WWE’s next stadium shows will take place in the summer, with Money in the Bank airing from the Allegiant Stadium on July 2, and SummerSlam emanating from the Nissan Stadium on July 30.
