AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa announced on last night’s AEW Dynamite that she was out of action with an injury, and would be stepping away as AEW Women’s World Champion.
It was announced that a four-way would take place at All Out to crown an interim champion, with Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm battling for the right to be the champion.
Rumours began swirling after the show that Rosa had been suspended by the company, and that she was not actually injured. This rumour was debunked by PWInsider, noting that Rosa was actually hurt.
In an update, PWInsider has now confirmed that Rosa’s injury is a disc issue in her back, and it is something she has been working through for a while.
There is no time table on Rosa’s return to action.
