Jim Ross made note of a concern he has with the creative direction of a particular aspect of AEW on his podcast this week.
Speaking on his Grillin with JR podcast, professional wrestling legend Jim Ross commented on something that he thinks AEW needs to be “very careful” with moving forward.
JR said:
“We’re facing that right now in AEW with the Six-Man titles. I just believe that you have to be very careful on how many titles are represented on your television. You can get overexposed very easily. I don’t know. I don’t want to belittle anybody for their opportunities to earn a championship, earn more money, earn a bigger place on the roster and all those things. I don’t. I just think you have to be very careful in how many titles they have. I just think the more you have, the less most of them mean.”
There is one less title in play after AEW Dynamite on August 24 saw Jon Moxley successfully defeat CM Punk to become the Undisputed AEW World Champion.
AEW is continuing to march ahead towards the next pay-per-view, AEW All Out set to take place on September 4, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois.
AEW All Out is set to host the final of the AEW Trios Championship Tournament to crown the inaugural winners of the AEW Trios Championships.
Elsewhere on his podcast, JR made light of the backstage drama reportedly occuring in AEW, particularly as it related to Hangman Adam Page and CM Punk.
