WWE Hall Of Famer Defends Tony Khan Following Backstage Drama AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has addressed the recent backstage drama within AEW.

Several notable backstage incidents have made headlines this year, with Eddie Kingston quietly serving a suspension ahead of All Out, and a number of top names including CM Punk and The Elite suspended following an alleged fight after the September 4 pay-per-view.

More recently, Flair’s son-in-law Andrade El Idolo was sent home after an altercation with Sammy Guevara at the October 5 Dynamite taping.

Speaking on his ‘To Be The Man’ podcast, Flair noted that his stepdaughter, who works on the AEW social media team, sees a lot of smiles backstage.

Noting that AEW President Tony Khan has a lot on his plate, Ric Flair said:

“It can’t always be perfect. Tony’s got his hands full. I don’t know the thought prospect behind his decisions. But they have enjoyed a lot of success lately.

“Sofiya of course, my stepdaughter, works for them. She’s having a great time. She does a lot of their social media so she’s pretty much on top of what’s going on there. She sees a lot of smiling faces. Hopefully, everything works out.”

Flair recently noted that he wished that he managed Andrade El Idolo in AEW, indicating that Tony Khan wasn’t a fan of the idea.
