William Regal has praised an AEW star and a WWE name, believing that the duo would have an all-time classic if they shared the ring.
Regal and AEW’s Bryan Danielson have a storied wrestling relationship.
Danielson notably trained under Regal while signed with WWE developmental territory Memphis Championship Wrestling in the early 2000s.
More recently, Danielson was a founding member of William Regal’s AEW group the Blackpool Combat Club.
During a K & S WrestleFest virtual signing, Regal noted that he’d love to see Danielson go one-on-one with WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
Believing that the two stars would have a match for the ages, Regal said:
“Have you ever seen Bryan have a bad match? Have you ever seen WALTER have a bad match? Right. Or GUNTHER…
“I would say, knowing that I’m a big fan of both of them and their styles, if they had the chance, they might have one of the greatest matches of all time.”
William Regal was let go by WWE in January after over 20 years with the company.
The wrestling veteran has revealed that he received Vince McMahon’s blessing to continue using the ‘William Regal’ name outside of WWE.
