Wrestling veteran Konnan believes that AEW has dropped the ball with Wardlow, and that the former TNT Champion could be considering a WWE move.
Wardlow’s most recent TNT Title reign only lasted a few days, with the star defeating Samoa Joe for the gold at AEW Revolution, before dropping the gold to Powerhouse Hobbs on the following edition of Dynamite.
Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan noted that he believes WWE would love to add someone like Wardlow to its roster:
“I’m not saying that he can’t be rehabilitated, but there was no reason to do what you’ve done to him. Unless he has heat.
“But the only thing you’re doing is – this guy who is good-looking, young, good wrestler, athletic, good promo, likable – he’s probably thinking: ‘What am I doing here? Maybe I should go to WWE.’
“I’m sure they’d love to have him.
“But I think (AEW) dropped the ball on him.”
There has previously been speculation that Wardlow will eventually sign with WWE, with Wardlow himself notably not ruling out a WWE move in an interview last year.
Prior to that interview, it had been reported that WWE would be ‘extremely interested‘ in luring Wardlow away from AEW when his contract is due.
