WWE staff took a moment to sanction a live audience crowd after explicit chants broke out on live television.
In an intriguing set of off-air notes from PWInsider, there was some information as to how the crowd reaction to Carmelo Hayes shifted through tonight’s February 6 NXT show.
After the crowd initially reacted to Hayes in the opening segment by chanting, ‘F**k you Melo!’, they were then requested to refrain from swearing.
More specifically, the crowd was “advised” to not use ‘F-bombs’, a request which they would go on to comply with seemingly without incident.
When Carmelo Hayes came back out later in the show to actually make the reveal for why he attacked Trick, no further F-bombs were dropped.
The crowd however continued to express their extreme displeasure for Melo having turned on former tag partner and best friend Trick Williams, simply without the use of the F-word.
