10 Dream WWE vs. NJPW/AEW Matches

9. Cody and The Young Bucks vs. The New Day

Cody and The Young Bucks, referred to collectively as ‘The Elite,’ are changing the wrestling business with their new promotion: All Elite Wrestling. Their YouTube show, Being The Elite, produces exceptionally entertaining content. However, they aren’t all comedy. In the ring, the Bucks and Cody are some of the best the industry has the offer and their matches often mix great story-telling with great athleticism that gets the crowd extremely hot and invested.

The New Day are their obvious WWE counterparts. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E are involved in, more often than not, the most entertaining segments on Smackdown. They mix goofy comedy with exceptional in-ring work that makes the faction one of the most beloved in WWE today. Xavier Woods even has his own YouTube channel, Up Up Down Down, which has actually featured cameos from the Bucks and Kenny Omega.

The trios have teased matches with each other over social media for years and the prospect of a match seemed more likely after WWE supposedly offered The Young Bucks and Cody fantastic seven-figure deals to join the promotion; one clause being that Being The Elite could become a WWE Network show

When ‘The Elite’ featured Kenny Omega, he publically stated that he campaigned for an inter-promotional match with The New Day, but the parties could not come to an agreement. A match between the two factions would be fun and entertaining but nothing short of fantastic when it came to in-ring work. I have said for years that Xavier Woods is one of the most underappreciated guys of the roster and this could be the match he needs to showcase just how damn good he is.

This match would be fun and the crowd would be extremely into it; possibly more than most of the other matches on this dream-card and that’s saying something. But more than anything, this match would create serious money, making it a win-win for both parties.
