The year of 2026 is winding down with one more of the big four premium live events left on the calendar and some fans have started to look ahead to 2027.

On August 4, WWE officially announced that the 2027 edition of the Royal Rumble PLE will take place from Glendale, Arizona next February.

Looking ahead to the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble, there could be any number of potential winners that might punch their ticket

Here are ten potential 2027 WWE Royal Rumble winners.

10. Sami Zayn

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Just nine days later, Zayn would go on to lose the title to CM Punk on the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw from Chicago.

Many fans were surprised by Zayn winning the gold at Night of Champions because they had assumed WWE would save his big win until WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

Zayn winning the Men’s Royal Rumble would set things in motion for “The Last Real Good Guy” to regain the gold back in his home away from home at Mania.

9. Kendal Grey

There is no other WWE NXT star that has gained more momentum over the past year than Kendal Grey.

The former amateur wrestler has taken the NXT brand by storm with his stunning in-ring prowess and likeable personality.

Most recently, Grey defeated Lola Vice to become the new NXT Women’s Champion at the WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 premium live event.

Grey getting called up to the WWE main roster could lead to her victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match next year in Arizona.

8. GUNTHER

Over the past year, Gunther has seen his stock rise even more after earning the moniker of “The Career Killer.”

“The Ring General” has defeated John Cena, Goldberg and AJ Styles in the final matches of their legendary careers.

While Gunther has suffered some key losses in recent months, he is still among the best that WWE has to offer right now.

Having never accomplished the goal of winning a Royal Rumble before, it makes sense for Gunther to earn a spot in his first WrestleMania main event next year.

7. Roxanne Perez

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match for the first time in her career.

This led to Morgan defeating Stephanie Vaquer to win the WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Looking at Morgan’s Judgment Day stablemates, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez could be the ones to follow in Liv’s footsteps in 2027.

After Rodriguez recently captured her first singles title with the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, “The Prodigy” could be the next one to get a major victory by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

6. Trick Williams

Since arriving on the WWE main roster at the start of 2026, Trick Williams has established himself as one of the most popular stars in the company today.

This led to Williams defeating Sami Zayn to win the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 42.

After losing the U.S. gold at WWE SummerSlam 2026, Williams could be getting prepared for an even bigger victory to come.

Trick going on to win the Men’s Royal Rumble would be a fitting next step in his progression since the main roster callup to start this year.

5. CM Punk

Looking at the long list of his accomplishments, CM Punk has established himself as one of the most important and influential names in pro wrestling over the past three decades.

“The Best In The World” is an eight-time WWE World Champion, two-time Mr. Money In The Bank and has now headlined WrestleMania twice.

Considering everything he has accomplished in the business, Punk has only one major accolade yet to add to his illustrious career and that is the Royal Rumble.

Punk surviving 29 other competitors would be interesting and set the stage for a potential WrestleMania 42 rematch with Roman Reigns next year in Saudi Arabia.

4. IYO SKY

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, IYO SKY defeated Liv Morgan to win the Queen of the Ring Finals.

Adding yet another accolade to her list of accomplishments, SKY is among the most decorated stars on the WWE roster today.

“The Genius of the Sky” is a multi-time WWE Women’s Champion, three-time Women’s Tag Team Champion and a former Ms. Money In The Bank.

Wanting to get the one accomplishment that has eluded her, IYO could be one of the favorites to win it all and punch her ticket for WrestleMania come Royal Rumble 2027.

3. Bron Breakker

Heading into WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Bron Breakker was considered a favorite to win the 30-Man Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal.

The destructive force of The Vision has been running roughshod over anyone in front of him since being called up to the WWE main roster in 2024.

Over the past two years, Breakker is a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a two-time World Tag Team Champion.

Looking to take the next step in his career, Breakker could win the Royal Rumble and go on to headline his first WrestleMania.

2. Naomi

The summer of 2025 saw Naomi win the Women’s Money In The Bank contract and go on to cash it in to win the WWE Women’s World Championship.

Riding high off this success, Naomi looked like nothing would stop her from her perch on the top of the WWE women’s division.

Then in September 2025, Naomi announced that she was pregnant and was forced to relinquish her title.

Naomi returning in time for WWE Royal Rumble 2027 could see her get back to the top in short order with a win in the Women’s Rumble.

1. Oba Femi

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Oba Femi defeated Jey Uso to win the King of the Ring Tournament Finals.

With this win, Femi was guaranteed a shot at the world title of his choosing at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event.

However, “The Ruler” decided to instead challenge and defeat Brock Lesnar inside of Hell In A Cell at SummerSlam.

With Lesnar in the rearview mirror, Oba Femi may now need to win the Men’s Royal Rumble Match to get his rightful place challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 43 next year.
