On May 23, WWE will present the latest edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

This show should hold some significance with it coming off the heels of WWE Backlash 2026 and further setting up Clash In Italy on May 31.

From new champions being crowned to interesting storylines being set forth, there could be some intriguing changes that take place over the event.

Here are seven potential changes to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

7. Sol Ruca Becomes #1 Contender For Becky Lynch’s WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship

On the April 20 WWE Raw After WrestleMania 42, Sol Ruca made her official main roster debut confronting and facing WWE Women’s World Champion.

After signing her contract with Monday Night Raw, Ruca was confronted by WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.

“The Man” has shown some jealousy towards the newest Raw star and wants to keep Sol under her thumb.

With their non-title match scheduled for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, this feels like the best way for Ruca to pick up her first win as a member of the Raw roster to become the number one contender for Lynch’s Women’s IC Title.

6. The Irresistible Forces Beat Paige & Brie Bella For WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships

At WrestleMania 42 Night One, Paige and Brie Bella defeated The Irresistible Forces, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Since then, Paige and Brie have been trying to establish themselves as fighting champions not backing down from any challenges.

Paige and Bella have beaten Nia Jax and Lash Legend in a rematch, but The Irresistible Forces will get one last title shot at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

This second chance may see Jax and Legend overcoming Paige and Brie to become two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in Fort Wayne. Indiana.

5. Charlotte Flair Walks Out On Rhea Ripley and Alexa Bliss

Following WrestleMania 42, Fatal Influence made their official main roster debut and have become members of the Friday Night SmackDown brand.

This led to unlikely allies being formed with Charlotte Flair having to put her issues aside with Rhea Ripley to work with her and Alexa Bliss against Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.

However, Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab attacking Ripley, Flair and Bliss has set the stage for a six-woman tag team match at the May 23 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Despite seemingly being on the same page against their opponents, Flair may let her ego get the better of her, leading to her walking out on not only Ripley, but her tag team partner Bliss as well come May 23.

4. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab Establish Their Faction

Speaking of the huge six-woman tag team match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, this should prove to be a pivotal match for the opposite team.

Ahead of WrestleMania 42, Cargill aligned herself with Michin and B-Fab in their rivalry with Rhea Ripley.

Cargill, Michin and B-Fab have never teamed in a six-woman tag team match since forming their alliance.

This bout against Ripley, Flair and Bliss should be very important in establishing them as the newest stable in WWE moving forward.

3. Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill Made Official For WWE Clash In Italy 2026

On the May 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jade Cargill addressed her attack on Rhea Ripley in her first appearance since WrestleMania 42.

At the Mania Night Two premium live event, Ripley defeated Cargill to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Now back after a month hiatus, Cargill stated that she wants to face Ripley in a title rematch at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

With this bout not officially announced for the PLE, a win for Cargill, Michin and B-Fab should lead to this WWE Women’s Championship match being announced for the historic show in Turin, Italy on May 31.

2. Ethan Page Becomes New Intercontinental Champion

On the April 20 WWE Raw After WrestleMania 42, Ethan Page made his main roster debut and became a member of the red brand.

In just a few weeks on Monday nights, Page defeated Je’Von Evans and pinned Penta in a tag team match.

Earning himself a shot at the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, “All Ego” could be set to score the biggest victory of his career.

Page defeating Penta to become the new IC Champion would be a significant moment on the May 23 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and shift things quite a bit in the midcard scene on Monday Night Raw.

1. Montez Ford Turns On Angelo Dawkins

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Street Profits will challenge The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory for the World Tag Team Championships.

However, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been having some differences in regards to Seth Rollins’ involvement in their feud with The Vision.

Rollins has been trying to get on the same page with The Profits, but Dawkins has been more open to his help, while Ford has been adamant about not trusting “The Visionary.”

If Rollins gets involved and leads to The Vision retaining the gold, it might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and see Ford turning on Dawkins to finally split The Street Profits at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
