Jamie Hayter had harsh words ahead of her match against Thekla at AEW Double or Nothing, and looked ahead to All In at Wembley Stadium.

AEW Double or Nothing takes place on May 24, with Thekla defending the Women’s World Championship against Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida.

With tensions between the unrepentant Thekla and her opponents in full effect recently, Hayter shared her thoughts on her Double or Nothing opponent in backstage comments shared on Twitter, saying:

“The more things change, the more nobody stays the same. You’re right, Thekla, I was champ a very long time ago, and I’ve changed, and you weren’t there.

“Stat was there. She’s changed. Shida was there, and she’s changed.

“And, where were you? Probably riffling through some trash, looking for some cigarette butts off the floor, and calling everyone in your sight a ‘dumb bitch’.

“And, to be honest, ever since you’ve been here, you’ve been a right pain in my arse, mate. It’s going to be very hard for me to win this match, cos I’m not gonna stop wanting to pummel your face in until your little girlfriends tell me to stop.”

Hayter would then look ahead of AEW All In, taking place on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, England, predicting the outcome of the women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament, saying:

“But, on the flip side, I have a great idea. I have a mate who’s in the Owen tournament, my Bird, Alex Windsor.

“When she wins the damn thing, me and her, we’re gonna blow the roof off of Wembley Stadium, because things do change, but one thing hasn’t: Hayter hits hard.”

The winner of the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament will be decided at Forbidden Door on June 28, with both victors going on to face their respective World Champion at All In in August.

If Hayter is victorious at Double or Nothing, and Windsor does win the tournament, the duo would face off at Wembley Stadium.

The Rocky Road To Success For Jamie Hayter

Jamie Hayter’s AEW road saw obstacles in 2019 thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic that derailed plans that would have seen her featured more often.

Returning in August 2021, with the effects of the pandemic no longer as world-stopping, Hayter would resume her AEW run, securing the Women’s World Champion, holding the title under her loss to Toni Storm at Double or Nothing in 2023.

For Hayter, however, she would once again be missing from AEW television, having suffered two herniated discs in her spine, later revealed she thought she wouldn’t be able to make an in-ring return.

Return, she did, at All In back in August 2024, only to pick up another injury at Double or Nothing in May of last year, once again seeing her absent from television.

Since her return in September of last year, Hayter has been a fixture on AEW television, most recently forming the tag team of The Brawling Birds with fellow British star, Alex Windsor.

While she may be contending for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing this year, and Windsor may get the same opportunity at All In, there’s something to be said about the thought of The Brawling Birds, brash in words and actions, as future Women’s World Tag Team Champions.
