With WWE Backlash 2026 in the rearview mirror, all eyes will now be set on the Clash In Italy premium live event in Turin on May 31.

Considering this historic show is the first PLE to take place in Italy, the upcoming event should have a star studded card filled with major matches on it.

From title bouts to grudges to be settled, Clash In Italy 2026 could see some significant matchups that will have a ripple effect on the landscape of WWE.

Here are seven potential matches to be added to WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. GUNTHER

On the May 1 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, GUNTHER made a surprise appearance to attack Cody Rhodes and lay him out with a sleeper hold.

After staking his claim for the Undisputed WWE Championship, GUNTHER was about to sign a contract set up for him by Paul Heyman for a shot at the gold, but Rhodes interrupted this to say his peace and call out “The Ring General.”

With these two men’s history with one another, this should be an intriguing battle for the top prize on Friday Night SmackDown.

In front of what should be a raucous crowd in Turin, Italy, Cody and GUNTHER might be one of the most compelling battles for the Undisputed WWE Championship in recent memory.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)

On the April 24 WWE SmackDown After WrestleMania 42, Fatal Influence made their main roster debut by attacking Paige, Brie Bella, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair during their tag team match.

Making a statement of intent to go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Fatal Influence made it clear that they want all of the gold on the blue brand.

Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid have made for a formidable duo since starting to team together on WWE NXT.

With Paige and Brie not looking to back down from any challengers, the champions could face their toughest test yet in Fatal Influence at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca

On the May 4 episode of Monday Night Raw, Sol Ruca looked to sign her contract to be part of the red brand until Becky Lynch interrupted.

“The Man” appeared to complain about this time going to the newest star on the Raw roster instead of her.

This led to Ruca disrespecting Lynch, Becky punching Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and then taking a Sol Snatcher for her troubles.

This sets the stage for a potential showdown between Lynch and Ruca for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at the Clash In Italy premium live event on May 31.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page vs. Rusev vs. Je’Von Evans

Over the past few weeks, Penta has been encountered by several different stars on WWE Raw looking to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship.

On the May 4 edition of Monday Night Raw, Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Penta and Je’Von Evans with “All Ego” pinning the reigning IC Champion.

Now, Page is set to challenge Penta for the Intercontinental Champion on May 23 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

However, this should also lead to a four-way showdown with Penta defending the IC Title against Page, Evans and Rusev the week following at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

“Demon” Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh – Steel Cage Match

At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, “Demon” Finn Balor defeated Dominik Mysterio in a Street Fight.

Since the event, Balor has still been battling with The Judgment Day in a series of matches with his former tag team partner, JD McDonagh.

After splitting their two matches against one another, there needs to be one more bout between Balor and McDonagh at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

To put a close to their rivalry and series, Balor and McDonagh could square off inside a steel cage to keep The Judgment Day out of this battle and to finally settle the score between them.

WWE Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill

At the WrestleMania 42 Night Two premium live event, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

After taking a few weeks off from WWE television, Cargill made her return to cost Ripley, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair a six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence on the May 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

This led to Cargill, Michin and B-Fab beating down Ripley, Bliss and Flair after the match.

Cargill getting her rematch against Ripley for the gold at WWE Clash In Italy 2026 could make for a high profile clash that might take center-stage at this historic event.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tribal Combat Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu

At WWE Backlash 2026, Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Following the bout, Fatu viciously attacks Reigns with the Tongan Death Grip over and over again.

Then on the May 11 episode of Monday Night Raw, Fatu once again assaulted Reigns as well as The Usos to leave them all laying.

This should set the stage for Reigns and Fatu to collide once again in a Tribal Combat Match to determine who is the rightful “Tribal Chief” and World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
