WWE Hall of Famer has highlighted NXT’s talent transition, with a number of top names recently receiving main roster call-ups.
Numerous stars have left NXT to make their homes on Raw and SmackDown over the past few months, with Sol Ruca, Ricky Saints and Ethan Page more recently joining the likes of Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans, who officially joined main roster brands at the beginning of the year.
Speaking on Busted Open, Bully Ray stated that he feels NXT has done a good job at introducing new stars, with the likes of Naraku, Mason Rook and Lizzy Rain making their debuts, and the likes of Kendal Grey and Tony D’Angelo moving up the card.
The WWE Hall of Famer said:
“I think NXT has done a great job with this seamless transition. A couple of little bumps here and there, but for the most part a turnkey transition from all of the stars that have moved up to the main roster, to developing all these new stars.
“Tonight, to me, was an exciting show. They’re doing a good job in incorporating all the Evolve talent like former Evolve Women’s Champion and current LFG star Kali Armstrong.
“How about the newer talent coming over from Europe, like Mason Rook and Lizzy Rain? Up-and-coming LFG talent, it’s awesome for me to be able to watch NXT now, knowing the talent that I got to work with on LFG, knowing what’s coming from these talents in the future.”

NXT is in an interesting position where the established stars on the brand who weren’t called up are competing with the new faces for the top spots.
With the likes of Lizzy Rain and Mason Rook already targeting notable champions, there is now a level of unpredictability on NXT, with it feeling like anyone could be the next breakout star.
One star who is already breaking out is Kendal Grey, whose match against Kelani Jordan on the May 12 episode has already received a lot of praise online.
Bully Ray has praised Kendal Grey following the show, calling her a “freaking wrestling machine.”
