WWE/AEW
Since it’s inception, All Elite Wrestling has been largely a more stable focused product than that of WWE.
From the Elite to the Death Riders to everything in-between, a lot of AEW stars either currently or have previously found themselves affiliated with a faction on the show.
With recent major WWE departures, there are currently some former WWE stars on the free agent market we could see get their foot in the door in AEW by joining the ranks of existing groups.
Here are some former WWE stars we could see join AEW factions.
Sheamus To Join The Death Riders

Sheamus won five WWE Tag Team Championships with Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro) as The Bar
Over the weekend, it was officially confirmed that former five-time WWE World Champion Sheamus would be leaving WWE after 20 years of being with the company.
During his career, Sheamus achieved basically all there is to achieve, including a Royal Rumble and King of the Ring victory, with him undergoing something of a career resurgence back in 2016, when his tag team with Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) was formed.
The duo known as The Bar would become one of the top acts in WWE’s tag team division for the years since, capturing multiple Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships during their time together.
With Sheamus now a free agent, we could soon see he and Claudio reunited as part of the Death Riders in AEW, joining what is sure to be a growing AEW tag team division.
Dakota Kai (Charlie) To Join The Conglomeration

Charlie wrestled her first match in almost a year at Pro Wrestling EVE’s Wrestle Queendom VIII in March 2026
Since the Conglomeration came together on AEW television, many of the company’s beloved babyfaces have joined up with the group.
However, as it currently stands, Willow Nightingale is the only female member of the group, standing on her own two feet after the end of the Babes of Wrath.
One free agent woman who would fit right in with the antics of the Conglomeration is Dakota Kai (Charlie), who returned to the ring for the first time in almost a year back at Pro Wrestling EVE’s Wrestle Queendom event in March.
Charlie and Willow coming together in the Conglomeration to create a new women’s team for the division would be a fun addition to AEW television.
Jeff Cobb (JC Mateo) To Join The Don Callis Family

Jeff Cobb (JC Mateo)’s WWE main roster career lasted only a year after his debut at Backlash 2025
Many fans were left completely underwhelmed by the WWE run of Jeff Cobb following his release in April.
Lasting just one year, Cobb debuted on the main roster as JC Mateo of the MFTs, where he was given not a whole lot of anything to do in terms of character presentation or ring work.
During his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Cobb was part of the United Empire stable alongside Will Ospreay and other current AEW names Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis.
With Davis and Fletcher part of the Don Callis Family, Cobb would fit right into the Family to create some fun United Empire based trios matches.
Karl Fredericks (Eddy Thorpe) To Join The Dogs

Eddy Thorpe (Karl Fredericks) was part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling Los Angeles dojo alongside Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors
Earlier this year, three new faces officially joined the AEW roster, when David Finlay, Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors of the Dogs were all announced as All Elite.
The Dogs is primarily a group of wrestlers who came up in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s LA Dojo, trained by Katsuyori Shibata, prior to making their move up to the NJPW roster.
One name who was also part of the NJPW LA Dojo class is Karl Fredericks, who instead signed with WWE and competed as Eddy Thorpe prior to his release from the company last year.
With the Dogs now at war with Jay White’s Bang Bang Gang, they could use more numbers in their ranks, and nobody would fit the bill better.
Samantha Irvin To Join The Demand

Samantha Irvin previously noted she had a two year non-compete clause after her departure in October 2024
Since joining AEW, Ricochet has undergone a complete character rehabilitation, with him going from the vanilla babyface he was in WWE to becoming one of the company’s most detested heels.
With the Gates of Agony by his side, Ricochet and the Demand already make a formidable trio, and there isn’t really a need to add another wrestler to the group.
However, former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin previously noted that she left the company due to wanting to become an on-screen character, potentially a manager for Ricochet, who is her real-life husband.
Adding Irvin to Ricochet’s character will only ramp up how much fans will hate to see him on their screen.
Cedric Alexander To Join The Hurt Syndicate

Cedric Alexander joined forces with the Hurt Business during the group’s initial run in 2020
Ever since MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin joined AEW and reformed the Hurt Business as the Hurt Syndicate, there has been speculation about who could potentially be the next name to join the groups.
The only other member of the group in it’s history was Cedric Alexander, who currently works for TNA and reigns as it’s X-Division Champion.
With there being a major shift ongoing in TNA right now, and a number of names leaving the company, Cedric could ultimately be the next one to part ways with the company.
Should that happen, adding him back to the Syndicate would give the group a new spark after falling stagnant in recent months.
