4. 205 Live – Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese
After a crushing loss to Buddy Murphy at WWE Super Show-Down – don’t worry, we’ll get there – Cedric Alexander decided to prove himself against Murphy’s training partner, Tony Nese.
People often criticize the cruiserweights for not telling a story. People are often wrong. Alexander has not lost in singles competition in all of 2018 yet, after his defeat to Murphy and the loss of his WWE Cruiserweight Championship, something has changed. It was teased earlier in the night with Mustafa Ali questioning if Cedric was ready to get back in the ring and it was played up throughout the match.
It all came to an end with Nese actually getting the win over Alexander and proving that he is a changed man. It is somewhat similar to the Okada storyline over in NJPW. Alexander was ‘The Guy’ with the title. Now, without it, who is he really?
