The WWE SmackDown roster continues to evolve as the brand has added some heavy hitters over the past few weeks.

There could be more new names heading to SmackDown soon, with the show not too far away from returning to three hours at the start of 2027.

Here are five potential new additions to the WWE SmackDown roster.

5. Nick Aldis

Nick Aldis has been on WWE SmackDown since 2023 as the General Manager of the brand, but there could be a change to his status soon.

SummerSlam saw Aldis have his first ever match in WWE, and it was met with widespread praise and a hope that he’d be in the ring more going forward.

While Aldis is still the GM for now, it might not be long before he becomes a full-time member of the SmackDown active roster.

4. Kelani Jordan

Kelani Jordan has become one of the longest tenured names in the current WWE NXT women’s division.

Jordan has seemed to be on the cusp of a main roster call-up for quite some time now, having featured in last year’s Evolution battle royal and this year’s Royal Rumble.

Next weekend at Heatwave, she challenges Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship – if Grey retains, that match could end up being Jordan’s NXT swan song.

Considering her fiance Carmelo Hayes is on SmackDown, the blue brand seems like the place she’ll land on the main roster.

3. Tony D’Angelo

Another potential WWE main roster call-up coming out of NXT Heatwave could be NXT Champoion Tony D’Angelo.

That event will see D’Angelo put his title on the line in a four-way against Cruz Montana, Grayson Waller and Zilla Fatu.

Given that he has three challengers who could all potentially come out with the title, and his now five-year tenure in NXT, it could be time for D’Angelo to make the move to Raw or SmackDown, and Friday nights might be his new home.

2. Lola Vice

Former NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice has already said her goodbyes to both NXT and AAA and looks to be main roster bound.

Having dropped the title to Kendal Grey – then losing to Grey in Vice’s own speciality match, the NXT Underground – WWE SmackDown is the most likely destination.

Vice’s boyfriend Damian Priest is on the blue brand, so unless they both move over to Raw, it appears to be her landing spot.

1. Hiromu Takahashi

For the past couple of weeks, Shinsuke Nakamura has appeared in videos on WWE SmackDown, promoting the arrival of a new partner.

After being targeted by WWE Tag Team Champions the MFTs, Nakamura is bringing in reinforcements.

Last week’s video saw Nakamura say his new partner will bring “chaos,” describing him as a “ticking time bomb.”

That all suggests Hiromu Takahashi will be joining the SmackDown roster sooner than later.
