WWE Star Launches YouTube Channel

Dave has been a website writer for WrestleTalk since October 2022, having previously written for Den of Geek, among a number of wrestling, movie and television-related sites. Dave has been around the independent wrestling scene for more than a decade, including behind-the-scenes.

A WWE star has launched their own YouTube channel with a “Behind The Scenes” video due to drop later today.

A frequent fixture on WWE SmackDown, GUNTHER is now taking a step into the YouTube space, launching his own channel.

Listed under his real name of Walter Hahn, the channel currently has 750 subscribers with more no doubt joining when his first video drops later today.

“GUNTHER – Life Of A Pro Wrestler” will give behind-the-scenes look at the WWE star as he goes on the road, with the thumbnail showing the former champion looking extremely relaxed.

Recently in action on the August 14 episode of WWE SmackDown, GUNTHER saw yet another victory, this time over Matt Cardona.

Prior to that, GUNTHER did double duty, competing on both night’s of WWE SmackDown, defeating Nick Aldis on Night 1 and coming up short in the Undisputed WWE Championship Number One Contender Fatal Four-Way match, which was won by a returning Kevin Owens.

A two-time World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER has recently shared his thoughts on not always being in the top WWE championship picture, reflecting on the number of challengers and the way he is used in “special occasion” matches, such as those that saw him retire Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles.

The Evolution Of A Social Media Star

There was a time when GUNTHER posted infrequently on social media. Known on the independent scene as WALTER, the star followed nobody on Twitter, keeping him very much outside of any “drama” that may have been going on at the time. His posts were few and far between and he seemed content with that level of exposure to the online space.

Since becoming a WWE star back in 2018, something has clearly changed for the star and, while he may keep much of his life private, he has shared more over the years, with this YouTube channel being the latest way in which he can showcase his life in a controlled way.

Over the past few years, GUNTHER has gone from being a rarely speaking, unstoppable force to an engaging personality, straight to the point, with a dry sense of humor, without taking anything away from his intimidating presence. Promos are no longer just the only time that GUNTHER is heard speaking, with the star appearing in interviews elsewhere.

That change is for the better, not just when it comes to fan engagement, but when it comes to showing just how skilled GUNTHER is as an orator in his own right.
