AEW
The name of the individual who paid for Will Ospreay to undergo neck surgery has been revealed, along with an indication of the cost.
Sidelined after Forbidden Door in August of last year, Will Ospreay would return to at AEW Revolution in March, having undergone surgery to repair a herniated disc in his C2 and C6 spine.
Speaking on an AEW video covering his journey at All In: London, Ospreay revealed that the procedure was paid for by Tony Khan, saying:
“Doctor and medical team have been flipping brilliant with this.
“Tony (Khan) is paying for the entire thing, which is like crazy.
“I saw that bill and my god, man, it cost more than my house in England.”

With that level of investment in the star’s future, Ospreay would reveal his loyalty towards Khan, stating:
“If you pay for that, for my health, I’ll be a little soldier for him for the rest of my life.”

The surgeon, Brad Wallace, noted that he had delivered the same surgery to other athletes in the past, with the medical professional reassuring Ospreay, leaving him close to tears.
Ospreay would say to Windsor that he “was still worried”, but was left positive after the interaction with the surgeon.
Since his return earlier this year, Ospreay has found himself returning to the top of AEW, with All In: London on August 30 seeing him challenge Kenny Omega for the World Championship.
Healthcare Costs
For residents of the United Kingdom, the NHS provides healthcare that is free at the point of need, requiring no financial outlay in most cases throughout the whole process. For many, however, the downside of this arrangement is extensive waiting lists that can run anywhere from weeks to years, depending on the operation in question.
As with the United States, private healthcare is available, although the cost is considerably higher, with insurance packages available to cover a portion of the outlay.
For Ospreay, having surgery in the United States was no doubt the right move, putting him in the hands of a specialist who had dealt with athletes previously.
It likely comes as little surprise that Tony Khan paid for the surgery himself, with the AEW president regularly described in positive terms for the humanity behind the businessman. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Adam Copeland had commented on Khan being a “good” man, something he has grown to appreciate.
Ospreay noting that the cost of his treatment was more than his house in England is quite an eye-opener, suggesting that it ran into the deep six digits.
