A new AEW show has been announced, promising to feature “the best and the brightest” for the roster in an unusual setting.

Announced in a post on Twitter, fans can now look forward to comedian Rachel Bonnetta hosting “AEW Spill The Tea”.

The short announcement video saw Bonnetta introduce the concept of Spill The Tea, saying:

“Oh, hello, my name is Rachel, welcome to Spill The Tea where I sit down with the best and brightest from AEW.

“Hopefully things don’t get too messy.”

With the show taking place in what appears to be a lavish team room, it perhaps comes as little surprise that a variety of AEW stars are show demolishing the place, with Mercedes Mone giving a middle finger to the camera, saying:

“Shut the f up”

All this after Will Ospreay makes the ominous-sounding statement of:

“Suffocation… it’s not nice.”

Amid the chaos, a number of AEW stars are seen enjoying tea or destruction, including The Brawling Birds, Kyle O’Reilly, Lena Kross, Kyle Fletcher, Mina Shirakawa and Kevin Knight, along with the aforementioned Ospreay and Mone.

At the time of writing, little more is known about AEW Spill The Tea, aside from its first episode being set to drop on Thursday.

A Different Kind Of Show

While details may be thin on the ground when it comes to AEW Spill The Tea, the short video does feel like a successor to Hey! (EW), in that it features current stars in an offbeat interview setting. It wouldn’t come as much a surprise if the new show was the brainchild of RJ City.

There’s certainly space for shows like Spill The Tea, blurring the line between what we see on television and the ridiculousness of it all, as Hey!(EW) was able to demonstrate during its run.

With Bonnetta not only being a comedian but also a former NFL Network reporter, there’s plenty of mileage there when it comes to how the two arenas will cross over when it comes to humor and insight, and the trailer gives an indication that fans may be about to witness both.

At the time of writing, it isn’t clear whether AEW Spill The Tea will be a Twitter exclusive or whether, like the recently released Will Ospreay’s Journey To AEW All In: London, it’ll be available on YouTube. It’s also not clear how many episodes will be released, although it’d be quite an achievement to fit all the stars shown into one episode without it feeling a bit too much.
