After winning the men’s Elimination Chamber match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Randy Orton turned heel on his road to an Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42.

Showing an untapped side of himself, Orton showcased the viciousness and ruthlessness that makes him ‘The Legend Killer.’

Now following his return at SummerSlam 2026, Orton could be back to assemble his group that will help him reach the top and become a world champion for a 15th time.

Here are seven WWE stars to potentially join a new Randy Orton faction.

7. Pat McAfee

On the road to WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton found a new advisor that helped him realize that it was the right time to show his dark side again.

Then, Orton would reveal his mystery caller was none other than former NFL punter and WWE commentator Pat McAfee.

This led to McAfee becoming the mouthpiece for Orton and helping him bad mouth every fan as well as Cody Rhodes every step of the way.

It would be interesting to see how a reunited McAfee and Orton would get along after their falling out at Mania earlier this year.

6. Ilja Dragunov

Over the past few months, Ilja Dragunov has gone from one of the best in-ring workers in the company to not being regularly featured on WWE TV.

‘The Mad Dragon’ has come back from surgery and proven he can still go by winning the United States Championship and having a strong run with the gold last year.

Now needing a new spark to help him get a consistent spot on the company’s TV, Dragunov could find some guidance from a legendary star on the WWE roster.

Orton using Dragunov’s recent failures to turn him into a weapon in his faction would give him a more established role on WWE programming moving forward.

5. Carmelo Hayes

Randy Orton has defeated Carmelo Hayes in both of their one-on-one matches in WWE so far

Carmelo Hayes was the man who was finally able to dethrone Ilja Dragunov for the United States Championship at the end of 2025.

After becoming one of the most prominent stars on SmackDown to start 2026, it now seems Hayes has been lost in the shuffle and not featured regularly since losing the US Title.

When he first arrived on the WWE main roster, Hayes first encountered Randy Orton as one of his first opponents on the SmackDown brand.

Melo joining forces with Orton would make sense and give him a mentor that can help him regain his footing in WWE again.

4. Alexa Bliss

Dating back to several years ago, Randy Orton famously feuded with ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt which led to some run-ins with Alexa Bliss.

At WWE Fastlane 2021, Bliss defeated Orton thanks to the returning Fiend who helped her get the win.

However, Bliss then went on to betray Wyatt and help Orton beat Wyatt in a rematch at the WWE WrestleMania 37 event.

Putting their past issues aside, Bliss could align herself with Orton with both stars wanting to live up to Wyatt’s legacy with this new potential faction.

3. Charlotte Flair

Speaking of Alexa Bliss, her tag team partner Charlotte Flair is someone else who could greatly enhance this new potential Randy Orton faction.

Looking back on his career, Orton has plenty of experience in factions with his first time being the leader of his own group coming with the Legacy stable.

Creating a group filled with second and third generation stars, Orton looked to prove that the next generation could be just as dominant as the stars that paved the way for him and his stablemates.

Orton recruiting Charlotte Flair could be based on his longstanding relationship with her father and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, bringing a touch of both Legacy and Evolution to this new entity led by ‘The Viper.’

2. Je’Von Evans

Since signing with WWE in 2023, Je’Von Evans has gained a few different mentors that have helped him with his journey in the company.

‘The Young OG’ is only 22 years old and has received advice as well as guidance from a litany of iconic names in the history of WWE.

The most notable mentor to Evans that has been a form of guidance in his career is Randy Orton.

Dating back to their matchup on WWE NXT in 2024, Orton could use this established friendship to become Je’Von’s leader in this new possible faction down the line.

1. Sami Zayn

Randy Orton and Sami Zayn’s last one-on-one match saw Orton win their King of the Ring semi-final on the June 20, 2025 SmackDown episode.

Earlier this year, fans saw Sami Zayn snap at his friends and showcase his frustrations after coming up short in significant championship matches for years.

Along the way, Zayn would start to look to Randy Orton as an example to follow and help him see what he needs to do to finally become a world champion.

Having changed his attitude and finally become Undisputed WWE Champion, Zayn could look to Orton again now that ‘The Legend Killer’ has made his return to the company.

Orton bringing Zayn into his new group would give him a former world champion who should be more determined, focused and angered than ever to make his mark alongside this new group.
