WWE
WWE is fast approaching one of its biggest premium live events of the year with the SummerSlam 2026 show from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Considering this will be a two-night event, there will be some interesting matches on the card that will hold some significant importance throughout both shows.
From grudge matches to title bouts, these contests will hold some ripple effect on the company coming out of August 1 and 2.
With the card already featuring Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins, Liv Morgan vs IYO SKY, and Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell, here are nine more matches to be potentially added to WWE SummerSlam 2026.
9. Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair had confrontations going all the way back to when Cargill debuted in WWE in early 2024
At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
This win came as a result of Charlotte Flair making the save for Ripley against Cargill’s stablemates Michin and B-Fab.
Because of this, Cargill, Michin and B-Fab attacked Flair after Clash In Italy and then cost her the Queen of the Ring tournament with a backstage assault, injuring her surgical repaired knee.
After ‘The Queen’ cost Cargill the WWE Women’s United States Championship at Night of Champions 2026, Cargill could look to finally settle the score with Flair in a singles showdown at the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.
8. Sol Ruca (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley – Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash In Italy 2026
Sol Ruca scored the biggest win of her career when she defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash In Italy 2026.
Meanwhile, Paige and Brie Bella defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the June 22 edition of Monday Night Raw.
After the bout, Valkyria snapped and turned heel by attacking Bayley in a brutal assault on her former friend.
With weeks remaining before the show, fans could see Sol Ruca defending the Women’s IC Title against Becky, Bayley and Lyra in a four-way at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
7. Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable – Intercontinental Championship

Penta debuted in WWE in January 2025 with a win against Chad Gable
Ever since being unmasked as The Original El Grande Americano after Mask vs Mask at AAA Noche de Los Grandes, Chad Gable has been trying to redeem himself.
Apologizing to all the luchadors he disrespected, Gable went to make amends with Penta who led him on his path to Rey Mysterio.
When speaking with Penta, Gable noted that his entire trip to Mexico and becoming The Original El Grande only started because of his inability to beat the luchador.
Wanting to fully redeem himself in every way, Gable could finally get the job done against Penta for the IC Title in his hometown of Minneapolis at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
6. Trick Williams (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – United States Championship

Drew McIntyre has never won the United States Championship, which is currently held by Trick Williams
Trick Williams has easily been one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster since getting called up from NXT at the start of 2026.
At WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Williams defeated Sami Zayn to win the United States Championship.
Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre lost to Jacob Fatu in an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42 night one.
Trick facing off with McIntyre could make for an intriguing battle between a former WWE Champion stepping in the ring with one of the breakout stars in the company on a huge stage like SummerSlam 2026 on August 1 and 2.
5. Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Blake Monroe – Women’s United States Championship

Blake Monroe arrived on the WWE main roster by attacking Giulia
Following WrestleMania 42, vignettes started to air on Friday Night SmackDown teasing the arrival of Blake Monroe on the main roster.
Then on the June 26 edition of SmackDown, Monroe made her official debut in front of the fans with an attack on Giulia following her win over Kiana James.
Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s United States Championship at Night of Champions 2026.
By the time the company gets to SummerSlam 2026, Monroe could find herself in the mix as the challenger for Stratton’s title in Minneapolis.
4. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) (c) vs. The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) – World Tag Team Championship

On the June 22 episode of Monday Night Raw, The Street Profits defeated The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker to win the World Tag Team Championship.
This marked the fourth world tag team title win and fifth overall for Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins.
Looking at the entire Raw tag team division, it only makes sense for The Usos to step up as the next major challengers for The Profits.
The Street Profits defending the World Tag Team Title against The Usos has all the makings to be the showstealer on the WWE SummerSlam 2026 card.
3. GUNTHER vs. Nick Aldis

Nick Aldis has yet to compete in a match since he signed with WWE as the SmackDown General Manager
Since signing with WWE in 2023, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has become someone many fans are always asking when he will step in the ring.
At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Following this loss, an upset GUNTHER confronted and shoved Aldis, who shoved him back in a heated exchange that led to security separating the two.
After being placed on administrative leave, Aldis may return to WWE TV to challenge GUNTHER to a fight at SummerSlam 2026 where they can let out all of their animosity while Aldis is out as GM right now.
2. Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jacy Jayne – WWE Women’s Championship

Jacy Jayne and the rest of Fatal Influence made their WWE SmackDown debut on the first show after WrestleMania 42
On the April 24 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Fatal Influence debuted on the blue brand in their main roster call-up and have been making a statement in the weeks since.
Whether it is their attacks on WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella or laying out Rhea Ripley on their first night on SmackDown, Fatal Influence have shown no fear in anyone on Friday nights.
This has led many fans to assume that Fatal Influence’s leader Jacy Jayne could find herself in contention for the WWE Women’s Championship sooner rather than later.
Jayne stepping up to the plate to challenge Ripley when she has been hurting in recent weeks makes sense and feels like the most likely next move for Fatal Influence with WWE SummerSlam 2026 approaching.
1. Sami Zayn (c) vs. Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk – Undisputed WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes and CM Punk have had numerous confrontations since their returns to WWE, but have yet to have a singles match against each other
At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
This win is considered one of the most surprising with Zayn long having the reputation as an underdog babyface and now being a conniving heel instead.
Rhodes could be on the hunt to get back the top prize on SmackDown, while CM Punk has been out of action since WrestleMania 42 and will reportedly be returning soon to the blue brand himself.
Pitting Zayn as the new champion against two top stars in Rhodes and Punk could make for a compelling triple threat main event of WWE SummerSlam 2026.
