AEW Star Vows To ‘Steal’ Championship At All In London 2026

Nigel McGuinness has commented on his championship match at AEW All In London, sending a message to the current champion.

The AEW Continental Championship match set for August 30 has now been confirmed, with the semifinals of the Continental Challenge Cup taking place at the August 26 Dynamite episode.

In Glasgow, Scotland, current champion Jon Moxley defeated Claudio Castagnoli to advance to the finals, and Nigel McGuinness scored a victory over Kyle O’Reilly to punch his ticket for this weekend’s Wembley Stadium event.

AEW has now shared a video of McGuinness backstage, commenting on his victory.

Vowing to “steal” the championship at All In London, McGuinness said:

“A dream only imaginable to a young boy. There’s a smile on my face because I made it to Wembley Stadium. How many people can say that?

“At the same time I realize this once in a lifetime opportunity, if I fail at the final hurdle and don’t take that title from Jon Moxley, it’s going to haunt me forever.

“So Jon, I know you’re the favorite. I know in the clutch you always come out on top, but to get to Wembley Stadium, I had to battle against the odds. Every time I was able to steal it.

“I don’t care if you know that’s my strategy, Jon, because I’m coming for you. The Continental Title, I’m going to steal it away from you. The Artful Dodger is leaving with the gold. Jon, it’s coming home.”

Nigel McGuinness defeated Katsuyori Shibata, Hechicero and most recently Kyle O’Reilly to reach the finals of the Continental Challenge Cup.

Jon Moxley’s path to All In London wasn’t straightforward either, with the Continental Champion scoring wins over Jack Perry, Jay White and Claudio Castagnoli to earn the right to defend his title on August 30.

With Nigel McGuinness recently hinting that he’s at the end of his pro-wrestling career, Sunday could be the last opportunity for the wrestling veteran to compete at Wembley Stadium, or for any championship in general.

McGuinness has wrestled at Wembley Stadium once before, making his in-ring return in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In London 2024.
