Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution saw Darby Allin go through glass diving from a ladder inside the ring.
The AEW World Tag Team Champions would retain the belts in the match against The Young Bucks with the title going on to be vacated.
In the wake of the match, Allin revealed that he need to be “stitched up” during the post-show media scrum.
Bryan Alvarez has now revealed the number of stitches that Allin needed after going through the glass panel.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Alvarez revealed that Allin required only twelve stitches, a surprisingly low amount given the visual of the damage done to his back.
During the AEW Revolution post-show scrum, Allin revealed that he will be taking time off from AEW to climb Mount Everest, with the trip starting on March 27, 2024.
Before then, however, he will face Jay White at AEW Big Business on March 13 in a first-time encounter.
Sting’s farewell address to the fans was cut short when AEW Revolution went off air, but his final words, in its entirety, can be seen below this news story.
