Kota Ibushi’s long-awaited AEW debut took place on July 19 in the Blood and Guts match and he saved some craziness for after the main event.
In the bloody main event, The Golden Elite’s Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page, The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi joined forces to take on Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and Pac.
The Golden Elite would be victorious in a match that also saw Don Callis removing Takeshita from proceedings and Pac leaving of his own accord.
Post-match, Kenny Omega would cut a promo that revealed that Ibushi would be back in an AEW ring.
As for the Japanese star himself, he chose to take some post-match bumps of his own.
In the video that was shared on Twitter below, Ibushi can be seen first grabbing handfuls of thumb tacks and slapping them into his own chest before taking a back bump into the remainder of the thumb tacks (and there were a lot).
The crowd can be heard asking:
“Ibushi, what the hell is wrong with you?
“Why? Why?”
Ibushi is, however, all smiles as are Page and Omega, both of whom look on in bemusement.
Highlights from the Blood and Guts match can be seen below this news story.
Kota Ibushi, folks! Who chooses to take that bump AFTER a show?! The man is a menace. #AEW #AEWDynamite #BloodAndGuts pic.twitter.com/sFOw5jZjTt
