Kenny Omega Comments On Loss To Will Ospreay At Forbidden Door 2023 AEW

It was a much anticipated AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door match that can only have further cemented Will Ospreay’s dominance in wrestling.

In a bloody match filled with emotion, Will Ospreay was able to defeat Kenny Omega to regain the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship that he lost at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023.

Omega was the inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion when the belt was introduced in 2017, with his defeat of Ospreay in January 2023 seeing him become a two-time champion.

Ospreay’s recapturing of the belt also makes the Aerial Assassin a two-time champion in a program that has seen him work through injury and his dislike of Canada.

With the victory now in the record books, Kenny Omega has addressed his loss on social media, tweeting:

“I lost and Will was the better man tonight. The US belt is in good hands. Keep Don away from it.”

The Don in question would be the former associate of Omega, Don Callis, who accompanied Ospreay to the ring and attempted to get involved in the match.
