An AEW star has issued a bold offer to those wanting to step through a “forbidden door” during the ongoing WGA strikes.
The WGA are currently striking with the impact seeing a number of television shows and movies delayed due to the writers going on strike.
While the writers’ strike doesn’t affect WWE as their creative team isn’t part of the Writers Guild of America, a lot of productions are affected and a lot of performers are currently not working.
In an exclusive interview for wrestlingnews.co, Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal spoke about the impact of celebrities in wrestling, with Jarrett saying:
“You asking this question. circles back around just where professional wrestling/sports entertainment fits in today’s pop culture. It is right in the middle of it.”
Jarrett would comment on the impact of celebrities on the wrestling scene, referencing both Shaq and Bad Bunny.
With pop culture being at the heart of Jarrett’s thinking and with actors currently unable to work in a large number of cases, Lethal laid out his offer, adding:
“I don’t know but there’s a bunch of writers on strike for a bunch of shows. So I think what’s gonna rise right now definitely on television is probably reality (shows). Wrestling being at the top of that.
“So any actor who is just taking a break right now because the writers are on strike, come on! Come on down. AEW has got the door open. The Forbidden door is open.”
While Lethal and Jarrett spoke highly about celebrities in wrestling, Becky Lynch has a different perspective.
