A recent update has revealed the current status of a number of unused AEW stars who have been absent from TV recently.
In addition to reporting on the status of both Miro and Scorpio Sky, Fightful Select (subscription required) has also reported on the status of Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Leyla Hirsch.
Of Shida, Fightful Select reports that the former AEW Women’s World Champion has barely wrestled this year though worked “a couple of matches” on the Jericho Cruise.
She has been “dealing with a finger injury” and is currently in Japan.
She previously discussed the injury and said it was “a little injury in (her) finger.”
Kris Statlander underwent surgery for her “completely torn ACL and maternal meniscus” in September 2022 for the injury sustained in August.
She has, according to Fightful Select, been “backstage at several AEW shows in recent months” and was at both the Lexington and Toronto shows.
Leyla Hirsch underwent knee surgery in May 2022 and is “slowly getting there” however there’s been no update as to when she will resume in-ring training to make an AEW return.
Hirsch suffered her knee injury during an April 2022 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation that brought her match to an end and the referee to throw up the X.
WrestleTalk wishes all three AEW stars well in their ongoing recovery from injury.
