An AEW star suffered an injury during tonight’s AEW Collision Homecoming event, causing an abrupt end to a match.

Tonight’s AEW Collision opened with a one-on-one contest between Kota Ibushi and “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander.

Marking Ibushi’s first in-ring AEW appearance since the Lights Out Steel Cage Match at Forbidden Door, unfortunately the contest saw an abrupt end as Ibushi took a nasty spill to the outside as Alexander was attempting to lift the Japanese star onto his shoulders for a fireman’s carry from the top rope.

Upon landing Ibushi was seen immediately clutching his right leg, before being checked out by both AEW referee Bryce Remsburg and Doc Sampson.

Whilst being attended to by Sampson on the outside, Remsburg counted Ibushi out, therefore giving Alexander the win.

In my opinion, he’s one of the greatest wrestlers that I’ve ever seen. He is adored by the AEW locker room + fans worldwide.

We wish him the best as he recovers from the leg injury he suffered on #AEWCollision tonight!

We at WrestleTalk wish Kota Ibushi a healthy and speedy recovery.
