Anna Jay Shocking Heel Turn On AEW Dynamite

Anna Jay Shocking Heel Turn On AEW Dynamite AEW

There was a rather shocking heel turn buried amongst the blood, barbed wire and shenanigans that closed out the Shark Week themed edition of AEW Dynamite.

In another case of the heat of Summer ushering a good gal into her villian era, Anna Jay turned heel during the ‘Barbed Wire Everywhere Death Match’ on tonight’s (July 20) AEW Dynamite.

Near the middle of the main event match, Ruby Soho was minding her own business at ringside, holding on to the controls for the Shark Week themed shark cage which suspended the Jericho Appreciation Society above the arena in an effort to prevent them from interfering in the match.

Unfortunately for Ruby, she was about to be attacked by Tay Conti with Anna Jay close behind in what fans may have assumed was a bid to stop Conti.

In a shocking twist, Anna Jay instead attacked Ruby Soho, leaving her laid out and aligned with Conti as the reunited duo scrambled to free JAS from their shark cage prison, suspended above the arena.

While there hasn’t been any confirmation of Anna Jay joining the Jericho Appreciation Society, rather a re-alignment with Tay Conti, it has left fans shocked none the less.

The match in question eventually ended with Jericho winning the match with the assist from Sammy Guevara but then shortly thereafter, being tossed into a “barbed wire spiderweb” by Eddie Kingston, leaving both a winner and loser.

Elsewhere on the show, House of Black kicked off the Shark Week themed edition standing tall with some intriguing events, Swerve in our Glory hosted a Championship Celebration and a former NXT 2.0 star made their debut and got a title shot.
