The camera man who Bray Wyatt kayfabe attacked on the December 23, 2022 edition of SmackDown has opened up about the assault.
In the episode, Wyatt stopped speaking in the middle of a promo before suddenly attacking the person filming the segment.
The incident was one of many since Wyatt returned to WWE at Extreme Rules, where it was revealed he was under the sway of a mysterious figure called Uncle Howdy.
The camera man was played by a pro wrestler named JT Energy, which is why he was able to take the unexpectedly violent assault.
Energy gave an in-character interview with WrestleBinge, in which he opened up about the segment:
“I was hired for that night’s ‘SmackDown’ to come in and do a job that I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen that night.
“Lo and behold I was in the ring with Bray Wyatt while he was what I thought was cutting just a very standard promo.
“The power that man holds within his body, I was helpless. Before I knew it I was thrown to the mat.
“Just as I thought I was about to pass out, I was thankfully pulled out of the ring.”
Wyatt will face LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Lights Out match at the Royal Rumble on January 28.
