Ignacia Cifuentes Guzman, a fencer from Chile, has been contacted to take part in the upcoming South America WWE tryouts.

WWE is heading to South America in September, with shows in Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina and Chile.

The company will also be holding local tryouts in the area to scout some potential new signees for the WWE Performance Center and NXT.

Speaking with La Cuarta in Chile, Ignacia Cifuentes Guzman revealed she’ll be taking part in the tryouts. She said:

“I’ve always been interested in combat sports, obviously because of the sport I do. I’ve had the opportunity to practice some and I’ve loved it, so you could say it’s something I enjoy.

“And as I said, all combat sports have their own unique aspects, and you can find certain connections in the movements; they’re all very similar.

“So now comes the issue of me having to make the videos that they will upload to their page where I will be participating in September, where they will do some physical tests and well, that is the idea really, in theory I am ready, I am confirmed for the tryout.”

She also has the Pan American Games and South American Games coming up, but said the WWE tryouts wouldn’t cause any interference with them.

La Cuarta also noted that WWE recently contacted Chilean former NFL player Sammis Reyes, who previously traveled to Orlando for a tryout at the Performance Center back in 2023.

WWE currently has two Chilean stars on its roster, with former Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer chief among them after she signed in 2024, and the more recent signing of La Catalina, who has joined the AAA roster in Mexico.
