The status of CM Punk for tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory 2023 pay-per-view has been confirmed.
Punk/IMPACT rumors have existed following Punk’s AEW departure as he had visited IMPACT backstage while still with AEW, and there was reported interest from the IMPACT side.
There’s also the fact that Bound For Glory takes place tonight in Cicero, Illinois, and Punk’s good friend Ace Steel will be working there.
According to PWInsider, Punk is indeed in Illinois today… but not for Bound For Glory.
Punk is said to be in Chicago as he’s attending the Chicago Blackhawks game, which starts at the same time as the pay-per-view, so that’s where he’ll be tonight.
The latest update on Punk to WWE was that Punk wanted to return but WWE decided against it for the time being.
However, with Survivor Series in Chicago next month, the rumors are likely not going to stop until it either does or doesn’t happen.
Also of note is Vince McMahon’s apparent loss of power, as he was said to be the one who’d made the call not to bring Punk back. Either way, we’ll keep you posted on the latest.
