Mickie James and Nick Aldis are one of wrestling’s most lovely couples. Perhaps more importantly, they are both incredibly talented performers in their own right. However, a theory now exists that WWE’s poor booking of James during her return to Raw was a shot at Aldis.
Aldis and Bruce Prichard had an online feud over the last few weeks over comments Prichard made about Aldis, saying he doesn’t have the “It Factor”. If you have watched any of NWA Power you know that is not true. Aldis took a shot back at Prichard, saying his comments had him as low as Raw’s ratings.
Your ignorant comments about me had me at an all-time low, kind of like your Raw ratings. However, there are a few hall-of-famers that seem to have a different opinion. Some of which are even featured below.

Shortly afterward, Mickie James returned to television after over a year. She had been recovering from knee surgery but there was nothing put into her return. Her return match was spent focusing on bickering between Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe and then James lost by countout. Not a great return. Now, Aldis has commented on the possibility that this could have been a shot at him as Prichard is the Executive Director of Raw. Here is the quote from Aldis’ interview with the Battleground Podcast, courtesy of Fightful:
“You’re not suggesting that the executive director of a publicly-traded company, with stockholders and huge television rights fees to maintain, would be as petty as to devalue one of his own assets just to get revenge over a feud that he himself started, are you? You can’t honestly suggest that would be a real thing. It has to be a coincidence,” Aldis said sarcastically. “These silly, petty tactics, fans see through it. I don’t think anybody saw that and thought, ‘Mickie James is a jabronie.’ Everyone saw it for what it was. She’s an all-time great and doesn’t need me to fight her battles. She knows her worth and will make it work, but everyone could smell that stench. It was just sad.”
Needless to say, if true, this is pretty low. As this is merely speculation at this point, this is by no means a report of fact. However, Aldis seems to have his mind made up.
