A WWE Hall of Famer has suggested that CM Punk is in a no-win situation ahead of his AEW Collision return.
This Saturday, June 17 marks the debut of All Elite Wrestling’s newest two-hour weekly primetime show, AEW Collision. The premiere episode will take place from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and feature the return of CM Punk.
The former two-time AEW World Champion will team up with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to face Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White and Juice Robinson in a six-man tag team match.
After the official announcement of his return and advertisement for his appearance on the following Collision shows, the company has still seen its struggles for ticket sales.
On a recent episode of the “Kliq This” podcast, Kevin Nash discussed the ticket sales struggles and his belief that CM Punk is in a no-win situation. Nash said:
“They’re throwing Phil under the bus like ‘Oh, he can’t draw.’ It’s not like he’s costing you ticket sales.”
As previously reported, a current AEW champion expressed their hopes that CM Punk’s return will benefit the company.
