Kevin Owens Names WWE Star ‘Best In The World’ WWE

Kevin Owens has named a fellow member of the WWE roster as the ‘Best in the World’ having had a storied career with him.

‘Best in the World’ is a label that is frequently thrown around, with CM Punk most recently reiterating his claim of “Best in the World”, as can be seen below.

At WWE Crown Jewel in 2018, Shane McMahon won the WWE World Cup to determine the Best in the World.

In a recent interview with James Williams, Kevin Owens reflected on what it really means to have that name.

While discussing the meaning of the name, he declared Sami Zayn as someone deserving of the moniker, saying:

“Well, you know, Sami brings out the best in me as an opponent and as a partner.

“It sounds exaggerated to say this, especially when people will call themselves that and it makes me roll my eyes a lot.

“Whether people call themselves great or good or even people say ‘I’m good at this. I’m great at that. I’m the best in the world.’ (I’m like) ‘Okay.’

“Sami Zayn, is probably the best I’ve ever been in the ring with. I don’t think I’m the only one who would say that.

“As far as the athletic side goes he can do it all. From a performance standpoint, from the intensity, the passion he brings, and the connection he has with the audience. Very few people have it all, like he does.”

Owens and Zayn’s in-ring history goes back more than two decades with Stevie McFly taking on Kevin Steen.

McFly would go on to success as El Generico with the pair finding their way to PWG and ROH.

Zayn would join WWE in January 2013 with Owens going on to sign in August 2014.
