Recently released WWE star Matt Riddle has made a cryptic announcement about his next project after his WWE release.
Taking to Twitter to share what appeared to be some kind of new logo, Riddle wrote:
“Coming soon 🤙”
While there weren’t any clear details as to what the project is, speculation already ran amok in the comments section with guesses.
As a general rule, main roster contracted talents are subject to 90-day non-compete clauses, while NXT contracted talents are subject to 30 days.
However, there can always be individual exceptions to those rules based on the nature/reason for the release, or even just terms negotiated into specific people’s contracts.
Matt Riddle was released from WWE on Friday September 22, the day after a separate cluster of talent releases from the company.
Following Riddle’s departure, a WWE higher-up is reported to have said that Riddle had “burned through too many chances” during his time in the company.
