NBC & USA Network Unhappy With ‘Stacked’ SmackDown Roster

Two huge WWE returns took place at last Saturday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event, when Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar made their returns to the company, both having not wrestled since WrestleMania 36.

Even more surprisingly, both of the returning stars landed on the SmackDown roster, with Becky Lynch capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Bianca Belair in controversial fashion, and Brock Lesnar confronting SmackDown’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns to end the night.

These returns appear to have upset some people at NBCUniversal and USA Network, who are unhappy with how the SmackDown roster is more stacked with star power than Raw’s. Andrew Zarian spoke on the Mat Men Podcast, where he said:

“There’s a little bit of an issue with NBC and the USA guys and the fact that this SmackDown roster is really stacked now.”

Obviously, WWE has the chance to balance the rosters out in the upcoming WWE draft scheduled for October, but as of right now, even the carriers of Raw know the SmackDown roster is deeper.
