The new permanent WWE NXT General Manager has seemingly been revealed following Robert Stone’s appointment as interim.
Former WWE NXT General Manager Ava announced her departure from WWE back in January, ending her run as the General Manager on the show.
Following Ava’s departure, Shawn Michaels would appear on the next episode of NXT, appointing Robert Stone as the interim General Manager of the NXT brand.
Robert Stone Becomes Permanent NXT General Manager
Stone has managed to keep the NXT roster in check for the most part since he took up the interim role, and it seems his work may be rewarded.
On tonight’s WWE NXT show, William Regal and Fit Finlay were backstage with the Birthright following last week’s show, with them telling the group to focus on getting to Stand and Deliver.
Robert Stone would then enter the frame, with Regal pulling Stone to the side, complimenting his work as interim General Manager, and saying he would speak to Shawn Michaels about making Stone the permanent General Manager of NXT.
WWE NXT Recovering From Losing Top Stars
The start of 2026 has seen NXT in a rebuilding phase after several of its top stars were moved up to the main roster, with the men’s roster hit hard as Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans have all joined WWE Raw or SmackDown.
While the women’s division has seen Jordynne Grace and Lash Legend be called up, it hasn’t suffered quite as much.
On the men’s side, the only real top stars left were Ethan Page and Ricky Saints, but the brand was boosted somewhat by the signing of Joe Hendry and the return of Tony D’Angelo, who have helped a great deal.
However, other than those few names, who are all also in the running to be called up to the WWE main roster in the not too distant future, NXT will have to look at elevating some new talent – something that is already happening.
The likes of Myles Borne, Dion Lennox, Jackson Drake and Keanu Carver all look to be candidates to break out and become bona fide main eventers in the months to come.
There has been no sign of a viewership dip or loss of interest in NXT since the recent batch of call-ups, so that should be a point of comfort for WWE that there’s no immediate major issue with the state of the roster.
